LATISSE® is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis (inadequate or not enough lashes) to grow eyelashes longer, fuller, darker.
Great eyelashes don’t just happen overnight. That’s why it’s important to note that LATISSE® solution works gradually and remarkably — with full results at week 16. Once you begin, you must continue applying the topical solution each night and follow the directions for best results. If you stop using LATISSE® at any time, your eyelashes will return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months.
Latisse is the only product of its kind on the market today proven to grow longer and fuller eyelashes as evidenced by its FDA approval.
What to Expect
Most people begin to see a difference in the appearance of their eyelashes in four weeks. Gradually, the full effects are realized at about 16 weeks. In clinical studies, patients grew lashes that were 25% longer, 106% thicker, and 18% darker during this time period.
It is believed that Latisse affects the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways:
- In phase one it increases the length
- In phase two it increases the number of eyelash hairs
With daily application your eyelashes will become longer and fuller.
How it Works
The experts believe that Latisse lengthens the growth cycle, or anagen phase, of the eyelashes to allow them to grow longer and thicker. To the typical consumer, it’s amazing that some medications work miracles even though the very companies that produce them don’t fully understand the mechanism behind the chemistry responsible for their product. This eyelash serum is such a product.
The proper application of Latisse is important for the best results. Each evening, patients should remove all make-up and contact lenses before using the product. Using a fresh applicator brush for each eye, apply a single drop of the solution to the upper eyelash.
There is no need to apply anything to the lower lash, and care should be taken to not allow any of the solution to get in the eye itself. Using the product more than once a day has not been shown to increase the product’s effectiveness or provide faster results.
