As we age we start to get facial lines and wrinkles and sometimes they can be more pronounced than we like. We don’t have to grow old too gracefully though. If you want to correct some of your newly developed issues then you should consider botox or dysport.
What is Botox/Dysport?
Many know what botox is and what it does but maybe you’ve never heard of Dysport. Both are similar and do similar things. Generally speaking, both correct lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that form them. Dysport is usually used for glabellar lines, better known as frown lines or 11 lines, while botox is used on all facial lines and can even help with migraines.
Is it Right for Me?
It’s good for both men and women seeking to reduce lines and wrinkles and obtain a younger-looking appearance. The only exceptions to this are women who are pregnant or breastfeeding and anyone having had a treatment in the last 3 months or those allergic to eggs or egg products.
How Long Before I See Benefits?
Wrinkles will typically begin to fade within the first 24 hours. Improvement will continue over the following 5 days or so as well. How long the benefits last will vary but are generally anywhere from 4 months to as long as a year. As you do repeat treatments the benefits may begin to last longer too.
Is it Painful?
You may experience brief, mild discomfort but overall it’s not too bad. It’s mild enough that there’s no need for anesthetic. You can equate it to a slight pinprick. You can go about your business straight from treatment and there are no serious side effects. The only mild side effects some experience include slight bruising and about 1% develop a drooping eyelid but that is only temporary. There have also been reports of headaches after the first treatment but again, they’re only temporary.
