BOTOX & Dysport Weston

Do you often look sad, angry, or tired? Do you have wrinkles between your brows that always seem to linger?

Each time you smile, laugh, frown, or look puzzled, the muscles in the face contract. As skin ages, although the muscles are relaxed, the wrinkles sometimes remain, producing permanent, deep wrinkles in the skin. These lines can make you look older, or leave you always looking sad, angry or tired.

BOTOX® and Dysport ® has revolutionized the way we treat lines and wrinkles on the face. BOTOX® and Dysport ® treatments offer dramatic improvements that reverse the effects of aging.botox3

It is a safe, effective treatment that takes approximately ten minutes to complete. Using a very fine needle, BOTOX® is injected into the specific muscle that is contracting and causing the wrinkles to form. The injection simply relaxes the muscle and your skin becomes unwrinkled and smooth.

The Evolve Medical Spa BOTOX® treatment will last approximately three months, depending on the area that is treated.

The procedure requires no anesthetic — you’ll feel only a minimal “pin prick” sensation. You will be able to resume most of your normal activities immediately. Within a few days, you will be able to enjoy the full effects of your treatment — smoother skin that makes you look and feel younger

BOTOX Cosmetic is an injected solution that is used for the reduction and or removal of:

✓Vertical lines between the eyebrows.
✓Horizontal forehead lines.
✓Crow’s feet.
✓Horizontal lines in the neck.
✓Laugh lines on the nose.
✓Migraine headaches.
✓Reduction in the muscle activity can be noticed within 48 hours and the maximal benefit is attained about one week after treatment.

A good candidate for BOTOX® treatment may be anyone looking to enhance their appearance by getting rid of unwanted lines or wrinkles. It is also important that patients seeking treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic are in good physical health, are not pregnant or nursing, and do not have a neuromuscular disorder.

Men and women considering BOTOX® treatment should have realistic expectations of what the procedure can do. You should discuss the desired results with Dr. Jimenez to ensure that your goals can be achieved.

Using a very fine needle, Dr. Jimenez or Dr.Sottile will inject BOTOX® Cosmetic into designated muscles in your face that are causing lines and wrinkles. You may experience brief, mild discomfort during the injection, but you can be assured that the treatment is very safe and effective. Taking only a few minutes, BOTOX® treatment requires no anesthetic and recovery is immediate, allowing you to return to work and resume your normal daily activities that same day.

Immediately following the BOTOX® treatment, some patients may experience mild bruising, which will go away shortly. You will see your wrinkles begin to fade within 24 hours, with continued improvement over the next 5 days. The effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic typically last up to four months, although many have reported results lasting up to a full year. After several BOTOX® treatments, the results may be prolonged.

BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment will relax the muscles in your face and soften the skin, giving you a more relaxed and youthful appearance.

Where is BOTOX® injected?
The frown line between the eyebrows is caused by the action of a muscle called the corrugator. You can feel this as a thickening just below the inside of your eyebrows, when you purposefully make yourself frown. Can BOTOX® be used for other wrinkles or other problems?
BOTOX® is also effective in the treatment of crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles. BOTOX® is also used for excess sweating (underarms, palms), migraines, tremors and other conditions.

How long will the effects of BOTOX® last?
The actual treatment takes only a few minutes and the BOTOX® takes effect in three to six days. Gradually, over three to five months, the BOTOX® effect will fade, and the muscle action will return. When the frown line starts to reappear, a simple repeat treatment is all that is necessary to maintain the desired result.

How has BOTOX® been tested?
BOTOX® has been used since 1980 for the treatment of strabismus (lazy eye) and blepharospasm (uncontrolled eye blinking). The use of BOTOX® for forehead wrinkles was pioneered in 1989 by Dr. Jean Carruthers of Vancouver.

What are the side effects?
There have been no permanent side effects from the use of BOTOX®. The temporary side effects of BOTOX® are related to the local injection of the solution. There will be some discomfort from the needle entering the skin. Your medical practitioner may apply a local anesthetic to alleviate discomfort. There is also a small chance of a temporary bruise at the site of the injection. You will need to remain upright for a few hours following the procedure. Approximately 1% of patients will develop a slight lowering or drooping of one eyelid (also known as ptosis). This is temporary. Some patients report headaches on the first day.

If I’ve had Botox injections before can I switch to Dysport?
Yes. Since Dysport acts in a very similar fashion to Botox on a physiologic level, these products are interchangeable. Since the dosing is different, it is important to find a cosmetic specialist that is experienced in both products and understands the conversion.

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?
Since both Dysport and Botox treat dynamic wrinkles through relaxation of the muscle that caused the wrinkle their results are very similar. However, there are potential benefits to both products. Experienced with both Botox and Dysport, our staff will help you select which product will be best for you.
