BOTOX & Dysport Weston
Regain your natural beauty
If you feel that you often look sad, tired, or angry, it may be due to facial lines and wrinkles.
Each time you have a facial expression, your face muscles contract. As we age, our skin tends to stay in the contracted position, even when our muscles are relaxed. Sometimes, these wrinkles become permanent, making us look older or always looking tired, angry, or even sad.
BOTOX® and Dysport® have changed the way we treat facial lines and wrinkles. These revolutionary treatments provide dramatic improvements that seem to reverse the effects of aging.
The treatments are safe and effective and only take about ten minutes. With a very fine needle, your med spa technician injects BOTOX® strategically into the muscles that are contracting and causing those wrinkles. The muscle is relaxed, and your skin is smooth and wrinkle-free.
Evolve Medical Spa BOTOX® treatments last about three months, depending on the area treated. There’s no need for anesthetic, because you’ll only feel a slight pin-prick sensation. There’s no downtime, and you can resume normal activities right away. You’ll see optimal results within just a few days, with smoother, younger looking skin – reduced muscle activity is noticeable within 48 hours, with maximum benefits apparent after one week.
BOTOX® Cosmetic injections treat or remove:
- Lines between the eyebrows
- Forehead lines
- Crow’s feet
- Horizontal neck lines
- Laugh lines on the nose
- Excess sweating (underarms, palms)
Who is a good candidate for BOTOX® or Dysport®?
This treatment works for anyone wishing to enhance their appearance by removing unwanted lines and wrinkles. Candidates should be in good physical health, not pregnant or nursing, and should not have a neuromuscular disorder. Treatments are effective for both men and women. At your consultation appointment, you’ll discuss your goals and desired results with our medical staff to ensure that your treatments will meet your expectations.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are new to BOTOX® and Dysport® injections, we strongly suggest that you schedule treatment at least three weeks before a significant event. Also, if you plan to travel before your one-week follow-up appointment, you may be asked to postpone treatment until you have returned.
What can I expect during the procedure?
Our medical staff will use a very fine needle to inject the solution into strategically located muscles in your face. You might experience some very brief, mild discomfort. Treatments take only a few minutes and recovery is immediate. There is no anesthetic used, and you can resume your normal daily routine with no downtime.
What results can I expect?
In some cases, people might experience mild bruising following the treatment, but this resolves shortly. You’ll see wrinkles begin to fade in the first 24 hours, with more improvement happening gradually over the next five days.
How long do the effects last?
BOTOX® treatment results usually last up to four months, with some people seeing results last up to a full year. After several treatments, results may last longer. You’ll look in the mirror to find smoother skin and a softened, relaxed, more youthful appearance. Over time, as lines reappear, a simple repeat treatment will help maintain the desired results.
How has BOTOX® been tested?
BOTOX® has been in use since 1980 for the treatment of lazy eye and uncontrolled blinking. In 1989, Dr. Jean Carruthers of Vancouver pioneered its use for forehead wrinkles.
Are there any side effects?
BOTOX® treatments have no permanent side effect. Temporary effects include the slight discomfort of the injection and a chance of bruising at the injection site. About 1% of people will develop a slight drooping of the eyelid, which is also temporary. Also, some people report having headaches on the first day of treatment.
If I’ve had BOTOX® injections before can I switch to Dysport®?
Yes, these treatments are interchangeable and work in a similar way. However, dosing is different, so it’s important to use a medical technician who is experienced in both types of treatments.
What is the difference between BOTOX® and Dysport®?
Both treatments are very similar and work by relaxing muscles. There are specific benefits to both products, so our medical staff will help you choose the right option based on your individual needs at your consultation appointment.
What should (or shouldn’t) I do before treatment?
- Avoid drinking alcohol prior to treatment, since it may increase the chance of bruising and swelling
- Avoid taking anti-inflammatory drugs for a full week prior to your treatment (Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Vioxx, etc., or aspirin, vitamin E, or ginko biloba
- You cannot receive Dysport® or BOTOX® treatments if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have had Dysport® or BOTOX® treatments within the last three months, or if you are allergic to eggs or egg products
What can I expect after treatment?
- Remain upright for six hours following treatments
- Do normal facial exercises like squinting, frowning, and smiling in the treated area for one hour after BOTOX® injections
- Don’t rub, press, massage, or pinch the treated area for 4-10 hours after treatment
- Don’t schedule any facial procedures right after your treatment
Your medical technician will explain all aftercare procedures at your appointment.
Will I need a follow-up appointment?
Yes, be sure to attend your one-week follow-up appointment to ensure that your treatment is working for you. Subsequent treatments can be scheduled in about three to four months, before muscles regain full movement. Repeated treatments usually produce the best improvement for fine lines and wrinkles.
